For His Glory

It is amazing what you can learn in such a short amount of time from the simplest of things. I know my calling is worship and leadership, but my gifts cannot possibly be used to their fullest potential without giving the Glory to God! I have been going about this the completely wrong way!

I have been reading a book on the life of an evangelist that helped create the solid foundation in my walk with Christ (seen in the pictures above). He lived his life according to God’s will and did everything for his glory and in his honor. It has completely reshaped the way I have been using these talents and gifts instilled in me by the grace of God. I came across this verse that helps sum it all up:

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3:23, 24 NIV)

Lately I have been trying to become more active and eating healthier. Ever since my gum surgery which was about two and a half weeks ago I have lost about ten pounds! Ever since I have switched my mind set on doing everything for the glory of God I find myself getting past the obstacles I have faced in my past. Philippians 4:13 has been my motto. It really has pulled me past those obstacles and allowed me to reach new goals I would have never even dreamed of!!! I know that I can do anything through the strength of Christ 🙂

I have learned so much in my final weeks of summer. Especially patience. I was gettting very impatient with God because I felt like my whole summer was a waste because I felt like I did not learn much. But, in these last weeks here in Cincinnati I have learned more than I could have imagined in such a short amout of time. God is so incredibly good people. Look at the small things, sometimes even those are God’s way of blessing you.

A specail shout out to Billy. Even though it’s been a few years since I have seen you, your book and your story continue to touch my life and my heart. Thanks for helping nuture the seed that was planted in  me by the grace of God. You have given me hope for my future and a relief by realizing I needed God back in control of my goals and dreams. It’s a blessing beyond the description of words.

“The truth is that the Spirit of the living God is guaranteed to ask you to go somewhere or do something you wouldn’t normally want or choose to do. The Spirit will lead you to the way of the cross, as he led Jesus to the cross, and that is definitely not a safe or pretty or comfortable place to be. The Holy Spirit of God will mold you into the person you were made to be.” -Francis Chan

Go read Forgotten God people. Cool things written on those pages.

God is good.

Peace.
