Living With The Spirit

I don’t know if any of you have read Francis Chan’s “Forgotten God”, but if you haven’t you need to. Can any of you guess who this “Forgotten God” is? Out of the three in the Holy Trinity, we hear about God and Jesus constantly, but do we hear much about the Holy Spirit? This forgotten God is indeed the Spirit itself. Francis Chan, in his book, challenges you to analyze you life and see if you are letting the spirit move within your life.

Did you know that Jesus left us so that the Spirit could dwell within us? I am aware that the three are one, but it says clearly in John 14:26 this:

“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

Jesus gave us the Spirit to move within us and to be a constant reminder of the gift Jesus gave us when he was crucified on the cross. I mean HOW COOL IS THAT??? we have our own personal mentor and guardian wherever we go?! I have been in a relationship with Christ for a long time, but this was news to me. I have been completely ignoring the spirt, the one who gives me my gifts, guidance, and everything, up until recently. I need to be praying for the Spirit to work in my life, and thank the Spirit for what it does daily for me in my walk with Christ. In church, I have not heard about the Spirit in this way. I mean Jesus himelf said the Spirit is what has come, the Spiritis what teaches, and the Spirit is what reminds us of our eternal gift from Heaven.

THIS IS SUCH AN AWESOME THING!!! My friends, go become familiar with your best friend, the Spirit, for this is such a precious gift that our Savior has left for us to take his place here on this earth. Pray that you can be more aware of the Spirit moving in your life. and don’t be afraid to let the Spirit take control of your life. It is such a rewarding experience, for when you let the Spirit run its course you are honoring your Father and his Son.

“Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.” -Romans 8:26-28

My life has changed so much in these past few weeks just being aware and conscience of the Spirit and allowing the Spirit to have the freedom to completey wreck me from the inside out, and take control of my being and using me for the glory of God. It is such a wonderful revelation to know that you have freedom through the Spirit of Christ.

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” -2 Corinthians 3:17

“Christ said it is better for us that the spirit came, and I want to live like I know that is true. I don’t want to keep crawling when I have the ability to fly.”

“The world is not moved by love or actions that are of human creation. And the church is not empowered to live differently from any other gathering of people without the Holy Spirit. But when believers live in the power of the Spirit, the evidence in their lives is supernatural. The church cannot help but be different, and the world cannot help but notice.” -Francis Chan
